ESR 2: Ludovico Andrea Alberta

ESR 2 project

Ludovico Alberta obtained his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, in 2017 and 2019 respectively, in Chemical Sciences and Technologies at the University of Milano – Bicocca (Italy).

For his Master’s thesis on supramolecular and luminescent materials for bioimaging applications, he moved to the Supramolecular Science and Engineering Institute in Strasbourg (France) with an ERASMUS+ Traineeship grant. Right after his graduation, he had an internship position at the Italian company Brembo S.p.A., where he worked on the development of novel aluminium alloys for high performance brake systems.

Ludovico joined the BIOREMIA Network in July 2020 and is currently a PhD student at the Leibniz Institute for Solid State and Materials Research Dresden (IFW Dresden), Germany. His PhD research project is focusing on the design and development of novel titanium alloys with antibacterial and anti-biofilm properties for dental and orthopaedic applications.

Find out more about Ludovico`s research in the following video made in collaboration with IFW Dresden.
